Scarborough Children Happier But Girls Worry More

Hundreds of North Yorkshire school children have been surveyed on their wellbeing.

Health professionals in the region have been looking over the results from year 2- year 6- year 8 and year 10 youngsters.

Dr Gill Kelly is a health consultant for North Yorkshire Council.

She says 95 percent of year 2 children, in the Scarborough area, have someone they trust to speak to and that the group of 6 and 7 year olds are feeling better than their equivalents, three years ago:

Dr Kelly revealed that girls worry more than boys across all but the youngest age group, but added that 70 percent of year 2 children- in the Scarborough area, feel happy at home, which is an increase from when they were last surveyed, three years ago:
