School COVID testing will continue into this month for Secondary School pupils in North Yorkshire.
The testing regime was meant to come to an end yesterday.
Ian Yapp sits on North Yorkshire's Outbreak Advisory Board, he says the latest government advice is that the testing should continue for the time being.
Schools in North Yorkshire are seeing more COVID cases than had been expected after the removal of bubbles and facemasks.
The restrictions were eased for the start of the Autumn term, North Yorkshire's COVID infection rates have increased to above the English average since then with the counties director of public health sayings that's being driven by cases in School age children.
Ian Yapp says it's putting more pressure on schools.
