Scarborough Borough has England's Second Highest COVID Rate

The latest Government numbers show the borough has one of the highest seven day case rates in the country.

The Scarborough Borough's seven day COVID infection rate is now the second highest in England.

Only Hull has more cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 people than the borough.

The latest Government number show the total number of people with a positive COVID-19 virus test result, in the latest seven day period for which data exists.

Although cases in the Borough do appear to have peaked and the seven day number is falling, it is falling more slowly than in other areas of the country.

The Borough shows hotspots of cases in Whitby and in Filey and Hunmanby
