A seminar looking at what Scarborough borough Council can achieve in it's final few months has suggested running a campaign to tackle poverty in the borough.
Councillors were told that most of North Yorkshire's poverty is in the Scarborough Borough.
Councillor David Jeffels says it the numbers were worryingly high.
The meeting of councillors suggested that Scarborough Borough residents should be encouraged to check they are getting all the benefits they are entitled to.
