The seven day infection rate climbed over the weekend before dropping slightly today.
The Scarborough borough’s coronavirus infection rate has dropped slightly less than a week before the next round of pandemic restrictions are due to be lifted.
The borough's seven-day infection rate per 100,000 people now stands at 49, down from two consecutive days of it reaching above 50.
The borough’s rate remains above the average for North Yorkshire and is now above the average for England too, which has dropped to 38.
One month ago Scarborough’s infection rate had dropped as low as 20 but has climbed steadily ever since.
From April 12 pubs and restaurants will once again be able to serve people seated outside and non-essential shops will also be allowed to open.
Hairdressers will also be allowed to open their doors and self catering holidays with members of a household or a support bubble will be an option again.
Mobile testing facilities will be available in Whitby, Scarborough and Filey this week for anyone with symptoms to get tested.

William Street Coach Park in Scarborough is also still offering testing seven days a week from 8am until 8pm.
