The COVID infection rate in the Scarborough Borough continues to rise.
The seven day infection rate numbers have increased from 158 cases per 100 thousand people on Monday to 214 today. That's a 35% increase in the last five days.

It's still below the national average of 235 but is the highest figure in North Yorkshire and above the North Yorkshire average of 116.
Neighbouring Ryedale is at just 63 cases per 100,000 people, Hambleton is at 61.
With in the Borough Newby & Scalby and Whitby West have the highest number of cases.
