Trevor Bull says the club is already looking to next season's campaign, and that was one of the key reasons for extending manager, Jonathan Greening's, contract.
Scarborough Athletic Chairman Trevor Bull has expressed his delight at securing manager Jono Greening's future with a new two-and-a-half-year contract extension, committing him to the club until the end of the 2027/28 season.
According to Bull, a key reason for the extension is that the club is already planning for next season, and the stability that Greening provides is crucial for attracting players.
The club says that since Greening took charge in 2021, he has been "instrumental in the club's progress, guiding Boro to promotion and establishing us as a competitive force in the National League North". They also noted that his "leadership, vision, and commitment to developing a strong team ethos have been key to our continued growth both on and off the pitch".
Bull commented that "Jono’s passion for this club is clear for everyone to see". He also highlighted Greening's "work ethic, ambition, and belief in what we’re building here". He described the contract extension as "an easy decision" and that the club is "thrilled to have him leading the team for the foreseeable future".
16th placed Boro face a tough trip to second placed Scunthorpe tomorrow. The Seadogs have suffered from a spate of injury problems and illness over the last few weeks and were only able to put three players on the bench for last weekend's game against Alfreton, despite having a squad of 28 players.
That game, Greening's 200thn in charge, saw a 0-2 defeat for Boro, a fourth defeat in the last five home games.
