Scarborough Athletic play their first home game of the season this weekend with the club chairman hoping for a better season of fan behaviour.
The club was subject to a number of FA charges last season including a large fine after misogynistic abuse was aimed at one of the match officials in the game against Darlington.
Trevor Bull says that fine was paid for by supporters group, The Valley Bar Seadogs, but he says that was money that could have been better used.
The Chairman is appealing to fans to help improve the club's supporter record.
Trevor Bull says it's a minority that are causing the problems and is appealing to the majority for their help.
The club was been fined £1500 following the incident in the Darlington match, of which £500 is suspended pending any further breaches of the rules this season. In addition to the suspended fine the commissions ruling was clear that further punishments could also be issued should additional rule breaches occur.
Scarborough Athletic is also required by the FA to adhere to an agreed action plan to combat the issues.
This weekend's home game against Banbury will be the first league fixture at the Community Stadium this season following last Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Peterborough Sports. Tickets for the game are available at https://scarboroughathleticfc.ktckts.com/event/sca2324h01/banbury-united
