The Scarborough district has netted over a third of grants issued by a North Yorkshire wide funding scheme.
The Inspire Fund provides support for community activities across the county with resident groups or community organisations able to apply for grants of up to £1,000 to help fund local projects and events.
The latest figures show that so far this year just under 34 percent of the funds awarded have gone to organisations in the Scarborough and Whitby area.
Marie-Ann Jackson manages the fund and says the grants have a range of uses.
The county's Stronger Communities team has has awarded £34,911 through the small, grass roots Inspire Grants so far in 2023/24, supporting 38 groups and projects to develop and deliver local events and activities in their communities.

The council data shows that the Scarborough district has received 12 grants so far this year representing 31.6% of the total number of grants issued and 33.7% of the total funding.
