Scarborough and Whitby's MP says attracting medical staff to the borough remains difficult but praises work by the local business ambassadors to attract more doctors.
The Scarborough Business Ambassadors have been praised by the borough's MP for organising an event to try and persuade newly qualified doctors to come and work in the Scarborough and Whitby Hospitals.
The event at the Bike and Boot last week included giving the doctors more information on the new emergency department planned for Scarborough and telling them more about the benefits of living on the Yorkshire Coast
MP Robert Goodwill thinks it was a useful event.
Meanwhile Mr Goodwill says continuing problems with the provision of NHS dental services in Scarborough are down to recruitment problems and not money.
Robert Goodwill says the NHS has the cash to provide the services but can't find dentists willing to take on the work.
