Northern Powergrid say 2,456 properties were affected by the power cut.
The power distributions company say the loss of electricity was been caused by
"an unexpected problem with the cables or equipment that serve the area."
The power went off arounf 2:44pm on Saturday, Northern Powergrid said it hoped to have supplies restored around 16:15.

Power has now been restored.
