Officers have recovered a large quantity of scrap metal that is believed to be stolen.
Yesterday Humberside Police received a report of a vehicle acting suspiciously in the Nafferton area. Following this report, a vehicle was stopped and found to contain a large quantity of scrap metal that is believed to be stolen.
Officers said:
"As a result of further enquiries some of these items have been identified as having been stolen from properties in the Nafferton area however a large amount as yet remains unidentified.
We are therefore urging residents to check any outbuildings or other locations that you may store this type of item.
We are also asking that residents check their CCTV for any footage that may capture these offences."
PC Dale, investigating officer for this offence has also stated,
“Thankfully incidents of this nature are not common in the local area however, this is a reminder of the importance to ensure outbuildings are kept locked and secure and CCTV is in working order.
Should you see vehicles or people acting suspiciously please call Humberside police on 101 as information from the public is key to identifying and stopping this type of offender”.
