North Yorkshire Police are seeking public assistance with investigations into three separate incidents that occurred on Saturday, February 22, 2025, in Scarborough, Whitby and Filey.
Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to bus stop shelters outside the train station on Westborough in Scarborough. The incident occurred between 4:30 am and 4:40 am when two individuals in dark clothing were seen on CCTV painting graffiti on the shelters. Authorities believe there were several people in the area who may have witnessed the act. They are appealing to anyone who saw suspicious behaviour or has dash-cam or cycle-cam footage from the area to come forward. The council has been requested to remove the graffiti.

Police are also appealing for information regarding a residential burglary on Wagtail Crescent in Whitby. The incident took place between 2:30 pm on Friday, February 21, and 9:45 am the following morning. A 50-inch curved television was stolen.

Officers are also investigating a burglary that occurred at Reighton Nurseries, near Hunmanby Road, in a village south of Filey. The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday, February 22, at approximately 12:20 am. Offenders entered the premises and stole cash. Police are requesting that anyone with CCTV or Ring doorbell footage in the area review their recordings for any suspicious activity. They are also seeking general information about the incident.
