Pickering's neighbourhood policing team are holding an event for parents in the town tonight.
As part of Operation Rope for Pickering, officers from, North Yorkshire Police are hosting a Police & Parents evening at the Pickering Memorial Hall on the 24th October at 6:30pm.
This casual event hopes to provide parents and guardians, including grandparents and carers in the Pickering area the unique opportunity to engage with their local policing team specifically.
Officers from the neighbourhood policing team say:
"We will be able to discuss and hopefully answer some questions around matters impacting the young people in our area.
This includes topics of Anti-Social Behaviour as touching on some of the contemporary risks facing young people, such as the frequent concern of THC/Spice vaping."
Operation Rope launched in June and saw North Yorkshire Police work with local partners in Pickering over the summer to address concerns of Anti-social Behaviour (ASB).
The operation identified areas in Pickering, such as the Ropery Car Park, Beck Isle Bridge, and Woodlands Park as areas of particular interest.
A local survey was also launched to capture resident’s views.
