Initial planning is underway to enable the roll out of a COVID vaccination programme across Scarborough, Whitby and Filey when a vaccine becomes available.
As hopes grow that a COVID vaccine could start to be rolled out this side of Christmas, the NHS in North Yorkshire has confirmed it is working on plans for a vaccination programme.
Amanda Bloor from the North Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group says it's likely there will be several approaches to delivering any vaccine.
The planning is being carried out in a multi agency way with the County Council looking at the identifying suitable sites for temporary vaccination sites to run alongside more traditional medical settings.
