Piers Morgan and the New Mayor of East Yorkshire, Luke Campbell, will be among the guests interviewed by Gyles Brandreth at today's event.
Described as a flagship event and a cornerstone of the annual business calendar, The Business Day aims to provide an inspiring day of networking, insight, and opportunity for business leaders, innovators, and influencers.
Attendees will gather at Bridlington Spa to discuss critical trends, share knowledge, and explore growth opportunities. The event promises a host of engaging speakers, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, offering invaluable insights from thought leaders across industries. It is also a chance for attendees to connect with like-minded professionals and explore potential collaborations.
Renowned journalist, television presenter, and author Piers Morgan is this years' keynote speaker for The Business Day 2025.
Stephen Parnaby OBE, Event Director of The Business Day said
“Piers Morgan’s career has been marked by his fearless journalism, his ability to speak candidly, and his presence on the global stage. We are delighted to have him join us for The Business Day in 2025, where his insights into media, politics, and the business world will undoubtedly spark thought-provoking conversations. Piers’ experience and forthright views make him a compelling figure for our sponsors and delegates and we look forward to what promises to be a memorable discussion.”
Mark Lonsdale, General Manager at Bridlington Spa and Producer of The Business Day says the fact that the event can attract such big name speakers shows how it has now established a national reputation.
"It's the biggest business event in the region. And because of the way that we produce it, it's probably the business event, not only in the region but nationally as well, because of the calibre of keynote speakers that we manage to attract, like Bjorn from ABBA, Lord Sugar, Bob Geldoff, this year we've got Piers Morgan.
And because of the reputation we've built as it being the destination for a business conference, actually those conversations are quite easy to have these days. But yeah, it's a real pinch me moment to have them in Bridlington. "
Adding to the event's notable figures, Gyles Brandreth is scheduled to host the day and will be hosting conversations with both Piers Morgan and newly elected Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire Luke Chambers.
Mark Lonsdale says the event, which is sold out, has attracted delegates from across the country.
"Most of the delegates that the business day attracts at Brits and Spa come from within the region, so Hull and East Yorkshire, but we are attracting delegates from further afield and the wider Yorkshire region and also nationally.
The main sponsors and associate sponsors are comprised generally of local businesses. There's big, high-end businesses and then also SMEs as well.
It's not that formal. I don't wear a tie. Gyles Brandreth, he always wears one of his famous jumpers, so it'll be in keeping with the theme.
Actually that's what this event is about. It's not just about doing business, it's about doing business and having a little bit of fun"
Bridlington Spa, will open to delegates at 7.30 am with breakfast service. The day will officially be opened by the host, Gyles Brandreth, at 8.45 am, and the event is scheduled to conclude with a champagne reception from 4.15 pm.
The main floor of the Royal Hall will feature interactive stands and showpiece exhibits from Main Sponsors, aligning with this year's "British Village Countryside Fair" theme. Mr Lonsdale commented that the Royal Hall will be transformed in keeping with this theme.
"Without revealing too much for our delegates, the theme this year is British Country Village Fete and so the Royal Hall is transformed in keeping with that theme.
Last year it was a seaside theme, we had a 40 meter high helter skelter, which was quite phenomenal. People could go down the helter skelter and enjoy it. And it was quite bizarre to have that indoors.
This year we're bringing the outdoor field village fair feel. Inside and what we have planned is quite spectacular. "
Associate Sponsors will occupy the Royal Hall balcony, continuing the theme with interactive games for delegates.
Richard Beal, Chief Executive of main sponsor Beal Homes, expressed pride in supporting The Business Day, describing it as a vital platform for bringing businesses together to exchange ideas and inspire one another.
“We are proud to support The Business Day, an event that celebrates innovation, ambition, and collaboration in our region. This is a vital platform for bringing businesses together to exchange ideas and inspire one another to achieve even greater success.”
