Charity announces appointment of Keith Ramsay as Chair ahead of 40th anniversary.
The Wilf Ward Family Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Keith Ramsay as its new Chair of Trustees, bringing with him over 30 years of leadership experience across retail, housing, health, and the voluntary sector.
Originally from Perth, Scotland, and now based in North Yorkshire, Keith has held senior roles including Chair of the Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group and current Chair of Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. His career began with Marks & Spencer, where he rose to regional
management level, before moving into consultancy, regeneration, and NHS leadership roles.
Speaking about his appointment, Keith said:
“The Wilf Ward Family Trust is a remarkable organisation. Its first 40 years have created an incredible legacy – and I’m honoured to be part of shaping the next chapter. There’s something very special about the Trust. You can feel it in the culture – it’s not about ego, it’s about making things
better, quietly and purposefully.”
The Wilf Ward Family Trust provides high-quality care and support for people with learning disabilities, complex needs, and autism across Yorkshire and the North East. Established in 1986, the Trust is preparing to celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2026, with a renewed focus on inclusion,
health equity, and co-produced change.

Keith takes over from Professor Dianne Willcocks CBE, who stepped down after many years of dedicated service as Chair of Trustees.
