Oxford City Stand Between Scarborough Athletic and FA Cup First Round Debut

Scarborough Athletic need one more victory, tonight, if they're going to make the proper rounds of the FA Cup for the first time.

The club were formed in 2007 and looked set to reach the First Round on Saturday when they raced into a 2-0 lead at home to National League Oxford City.

The Seadogs were cruelly denied progress as City netted a 99th-minute equaliser at the Flamingo Land Stadium.

It means Jono Greening's men face a 217-mile Tuesday night trek to face the side one league above them in a replay.

Greening says there's a hurdle to clear before a ball's even kicked at Marsh Lane.

Scarborough will be rewarded with a home tie against League Two side Forest Green Rovers should they make it past Oxford.

Club Chairman Trevor Bull told Paddy at Breakfast, that would be something special.

Trevor says that watching Saturday's game was something of an emotional roller-coaster.

The 2-2 draw on Saturday meant Boro featured in Sunday's televised First Round Draw, Trevor says even that experience was somewhat stressful.

Speaking on This is the Coast, Trevor said the travelling fans will play a key role in tonight's game.

Trevor says he's been buoyed by the clubs recent improvement in form and hopes that will carry over into the league.
