Police are continuing to work with agencies this weekend to tackle the issue of anti-social and illegal use of off-road 4x4 vehicles and motorbikes within the Scarborough Rural area.
They say these activities have caused significant disruption to local forestry and wildlife habitats, threatening the balance of delicate ecosystems and impacting the safety and enjoyment of these areas for local communities and visitors alike.
'We are asking for your help to tackle the ongoing issue of anti-social driving in our local forestry and wildlife areas. If you see any 4x4 vehicles or off-road motorbikes being used irresponsibly, please report it to us as soon as possible.
'Your information is vital in helping us identify and address this behaviour, which is causing significant harm to the environment, wildlife, and the safety of others.
'To report sightings, please provide as much detail as possible, including:
- The location of the incident
- The time and date
- A description of the vehicles or individuals involved
You can report anonymously if you prefer. Together, we can protect our natural spaces and ensure they remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.'
