Only Brid Victorious From Rugby Trips

All three of our local rugby sides were away on Saturday but only one of them came out on top.

Scarborough were swept aside 24-3 at Cleckheaton in North One East.

Boro's fifth-placed hosts raced into a ten-point lead early on with a converted try and penalty.

It was Tom Ratcliffe's 250th appearance for the club and it was he who put over a penalty to give the visitors their only point of the afternoon.

Handling errors and a failure to adjust to the conditions cost the away side despite a strong debut from Dylan Robinson.

However, Bridlington were successful, in Yorkshire One.

In another low-scoring encounter, Brid saw off West Leeds 16-10.

Whitby lost out in their Durham & Northumberland Second Division derby.

Guisborough proved too strong in a 40-7 demolition.
