The time it takes for North Yorkshire Police to answer a call to their non-emergency 101 number fell by 3 minutes last month.
On average it now takes them just under five and a half minutes to answer a 101 call.
By comparison 999 Calls take now 18 seconds on average, an increase of five seconds on the previous month and above the ten second target.
Assistant Chief Constable - Mike Walker - says they are working hard to get call wait times down but have more to do.
December saw the North Yorkshire force answer 8,962 emergency calls to the 999 service an increase of 321 on the previous month.

The 101 line saw the force handle 14,810 calls a fall of 2,289 on November.
