On Monday the rules around self isolation will change for people who are deemed to be a close contact of someone with COVID.
Anyone who has had both doses of a vaccine at least 14 days prior will not need to self isolate but will have to take further COVID tests.
North Yorkshire Public Health Consultant Dr Victoria Turner says there does seem to be some confusion about the changes which she stresses don't apply to anyone who actually test positive for COVID.
The Government website says:
On 16 August, the rules on self-isolating as a contact will change for people who are fully vaccinated, and for under 18s. Those not fully vaccinated will still need to isolate if they are contacts, and everyone will still have to isolate if they test positive, to protect themselves and others.
The Government site describes "Fully Vaccinated" as:
"Full vaccination: 14 days after the second dose for two-dose vaccines."
