Pickering Town Council held its Annual Meeting this week where the council's committee structure was set out for the year ahead.
The AGM also saw Councillor Emma Steadman elected as Chairman/Town Mayor and Councillor Steve Nunn Deputy Chairman/Deputy Town Mayor.
The council gave its thanks to retiring Chairman and Town Mayor Councillor Joan Lovejoy who will continue to serve as a town councillor having been an elected member and taking an active role in council business since 2007.
As well as taking on the civic roles Councillor Steadman will chair council meetings and is responsible for ensuring that they run smoothly and proper procedures are followed.
Councillor Nunn will support her in this role, and step in if the chairman is unable to attend a meeting.
