Filey Town Council is considering what to do about the town's Aviary.
The facility in Memorial gardens is currently maintained by the borough council but the responsibility will fall back on to the town council when the borough authority is abolished in April.
Town Councillor - Victoria Crawford-Gage - says there has been interest from local volunteers but says there are a number of options they are looking at.
The Aviary is owned by the town council but currently maintained by the borough council which will cease to exist at the end of March.
Town councillors are now looking at if and how the aviary can be maintained when the support from the borough council disappears.
Town Mayor - Councillor Jacqui Houlden-Banks - says they are exploring a range of options including offers of help from volunteers.
No decisions have yet been made about the future of the aviary, the town council says if it can't find a local solution then it has has the offer of a home for the birds at a larger aviary elsewhere.
