"Parky in the Pub" will be taking place for the first time in Scarborough tonight.
A new event to support people living with Parkinson's is launching in Scarborough tonight.
Parky in the Pub is aimed at providing an informal support group for people who can't make daytime support meetings.
Malcolm Hoddy is one of those behind the event.
The event called "Parky in the Pub" is being backed by Parkinson's UK.
Organiser Malcolm Hoddy says the idea is to provide a support group for people who cant make daytime meetings.
Parky in the Pub is run by people living with Parkinson's for people living with Parkinson's, including partners, family and friends who cannot make daytime support groups.
Malcolm says the support offered by the local groups in invaluable.
The initiative is a six week trail described as an "informal, friendly group where you can just drop in for a chat, a laugh and maybe learn something new."
The first meeting is on Thursday 9th May from 6.30 to 8.30 p.m. at The Duchess, Hovingham Drive, Scarborough.
