Mixed Results For Yorkshire Coast Cricket Sides

There were ups and downs for our Yorkshire Coast cricket sides with Whitby, Scarborough, Bridlington, Driffield, Folkton & Flixton all in action.

In Yorkshire Premier North, Driffield were put in to bat by hosts Beverley, making 194/8 from their 50 overs.

Alec Drury top scored with 64 then took 2 for 16 with the ball, but Beverley got home with six wickets down and eight balls to spare.

In Premier 2, Bridlington piled on the runs after choosing to bat first at Patrington.

Skipper Casey Rudd was the star with a mammoth 143 as Brid posted 338/4 from 50 overs.

The home side had no answer and were bowled out for 190 in the 44th over with Calum Hatton taking 4/61.

There was disappointment for Folkton & Flixton, though, in the same division.

They were put in and restricted to 199/9 from their 50.

Hosts Fairburn then won by five wickets in reply.

It was a long afternoon for Scarborough's bowlers in Championship East.

Brandesburton batted first, posting 386/7 from their 50 overs, Taryn Moses took 2/98.

Tom Bussey made 87 in Scarborough's reply, but they were bowled out in the penultimate over, 137 runs short, on 249.

In the same division, Malton & Old Malton amassed 317/6 from 50 overs with Matty Turnbull firing an unbeaten 127.

Visitors Goole were then skittled for 107 in the 32nd over with Andy Slaughter taking an incredible 9/45.

Elsewhere, Pickering were put in to bat by hosts Cottingham, making 342/7 from 50 overs.

Kieran Bowes top-scored with 93, before Luke Shepherd took 3/26 as the hosts were bowled out for 121 in the 37th over.
