The vehicle broke down yesterday blocking the village's main road for ten hours.
There were cheers from locals as the stranded lorry was finally towed back up the steep hill yesterday afternoon.
The vehicle became stuck when it broke down just before 10am on Thursday morning while making deliveries.
The lorry remained stuck on the hill until Highway workers who had arrived to carry out overnight works used a dumper truck to recover the vehicle at around 7:45pm.
Locals say a recovery vehicle had turned up about the same time as the dumper truck, but was too big to be able to get to the stricken lorry.
Some local people expressed concern that If an ambulance or fire engine was needed in the lower part of the village it wouldn't have been able to get past the broken down vehicle.
After a very long day
