A Scarborough based community motorcycle project are hoping to raise sixty thousand pounds to buy the land that the course is currently sat on.
The "Mud in Your Blood" moto cross club trains local kids to ride motorcycles near Dean's Garden Centre. They have been given free use of the land they train on for the last 12 years, but now the land owner is selling up and has offered the club first refusal to purchase the land.
The not for profit group now have until June to raise the necessary funds.
Chairman of the club, Pete Woodworth, is hoping that upcoming fundraising events will help the club close in on the £60,000 target.
If they were successful in raising the money, the land purchase would give the club the opportunity to expand, with funding for new training bikes and the hopes of working with local schools to offer a safe place for kids to learn and ride.
Pete says the club has already secured a huge amount of funding from a local business.
On the 1st of May, seven of the club are taking part in a sponsored sky dive at Grindale and are on the look out for sponsorship to help towards the target.
The club has also launched a gofundme page to help raise their target.
