A man in his twenties from the Whitby area has died after a motorcycle collision on the A169 Blue Bank in Sleights last night.
Police have issued an appeal for information about the the single-vehicle collision which took place on the A169 Blue Bank, Sleights, shortly after 6pm on Tuesday 16 September 2025.
It involved a red Honda CBR 650, travelling southbound. The sole rider - a man in his twenties from the Whitby area - suffered serious injuries and sadly died at the scene.
North Yorkshire Police have expressed their gratitude to members of the public who offered assistance during this difficult time.
The road was closed for several hours to facilitate a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision, with the closure lasting until approximately 2AM.
Authorities are now appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly interested in anyone who may have seen the motorcycle prior to the accident or the collision itself. Additionally, dashcam footage from the area could be invaluable to the investigation.
