It's all in aid of a charity tackling testicular cancer and men just need to be willing to don a pink tutu at August's fundraising gala.
The Ladies in Pink will be hosting their annual summer gala at Cayton Playing Fields in Scarborough on Sunday, August 3rd. The event, which raises money for breast cancer research and other cancer research charities, will feature stalls, a car boot, dancers, singers, live music, displays, tombolas, a BBQ, a bar, and more.
Lisa Smith is one of the Ladies in Pink fundraising group:
" So it's for the gala. It's on August the third, and we came up with an idea for men to do a ballet. So we obviously thought they could do Nutcracker for obvious reasons. So we want men to come along to a meeting at 7.30 at the club, interested in getting dressed up in a pink tutu and doing the Nutcracker, raising funds for testicular cancer research."
Lisa's colleague Debbie Ratcliffe says this year's gala is shaping up nicely:
"The gala, it's going to be a big one this year. It's on August the third, 11 till four with all the stalls and everything going on, and then four till seven for a wind down with some music, et cetera. However, we've got at least 45 stalls so far. We've got Dodges, we've got mini golf, we've got displays, we've got bouncy castles.
It's just gonna be mega this year. Really good. We're really excited about it."
The gala is a fun, family-friendly event.
Any men up to the challenge should go to Cayton Sports Club at 7.30pm on Monday.
Lisa and Debbie say it's a light-hearted audition ahead of a light-hearted fundraising event:
"Absolutely. I mean, the ladies in pink. We all dance, but we laugh more than we dance, put it that way. We're not great at it. It's just all good fun and that's what it's, that's what it's all about. It's just good fun whilst raising funds for great fathers."
