Haven’s Blue Dolphin and Primrose Valley parks have partnered with Filey School to deliver hands-on culinary experiences.
Holiday park operator, Haven, has partnered with Yorkshire-based Filey School to host cooking classes, providing them with hands-on culinary experiences guided by professional chefs from both Haven Blue Dolphin and Primrose Valley.
The company says that the partnership between the Yorkshire parks and Filey School reflects "a shared commitment to community engagement and youth development", with the aim of providing students with valuable skills that extend beyond the classroom.
The cooking classes are aligned with the food technology curriculum to cover a range of culinary topics, including basic cooking techniques, nutrition, meal planning, and more.
Students had the opportunity to work with fresh ingredients and learn to prepare delicious and healthy dishes under the guidance of experienced chefs.
Katherine Lavender, Learning & Development Partner at Haven, said,
“We're enthusiastic about empowering young individuals in our local areas, fostering their skills, knowledge, and career aspirations for successful life transitions. Our aim is that our parks build long-lasting and impactful relationships with our local school communities, and for some, welcome them to work with us in the future”.
To gain an insight into what it looks like working at Haven Parks, the company has partnered with Youth Employment UK and created a virtual Work Experience, all available for students, teachers and parents/guardians to explore - https://www.youthemployment.org.uk/careers-advice-help/haven-virtual-work-experience-guide/
