The number of people in Scarborough Hospital will Covid-19 has fallen to just four.
The figures were revealed at a meeting of the North Yorkshire Local Resilience Forum (NYLRF) this morning.
The number is a reduction of three on last week. Two months ago there were 35 Covid patients in the hospital.
The number of Covid patients in North Yorkshire has also fallen by 70 to 129 in the last seven days.
Amanda Bloor, NHS North Yorkshire CCG accountable officer said the numbers were “really positive” but also warned that people should not drop their guard.
Mrs Bloor said:
“Please, please continue to adhere to the government guidance as we take our steps towards the roadmap being unlocked more over the coming weeks.”
The seven day infection rate per 100,000 people in Scarborough has also fallen and now stands at 30, a drop of one on yesterday.
The borough is averaging five new cases every day.
The average infection rate in England is now 60 per 100,000 while in North Yorkshire as a whole it is 39.
It was also revealed last week that 42,000 people have now received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine in Scarborough.
The NHS has released figures showing that in the period up to February 28 42,867 people in the borough had been vaccinated, up from 38,416 a week earlier
The data include vaccinations administered in hospital hubs, local vaccination service sites such as GP practices and at vaccination centres.
Mobile testing facilities will be available in Whitby, Scarborough and Filey this week for anyone with symptoms to get tested.
