The Iconic Yorkshire Coast fundraising event is returning to mark Saint Catherine's 40th Anniversary.
Throughout the day teams from Saint Catherine's, Scarborough Business Ambassadors and This is the Coast will be out visiting local businesses to pick up the coins you've been donating to the event.
Teams from Saint Catherine's, This is the Coast and SWC will be visiting workplaces, schools and offices along the Yorkshire Coast to collect your pounds and you'll be able to follow all the action with a special day of broadcasting on This is the Coast.
Louise Gravestock from the hospice says its a brilliant day of community support.
"It's great to be able to be out and about and meet everyone in their place of work. The people who support us in the work we do in providing our services and care to our patients and their families. Every pound counts and every pound helps to make a difference.
It's great to be out there to collect those all essential pounds. All for patient care. "
Louise says the fundraising will help many people over a large area and help to mark Saint Catherine's landmark anniversary.
"It's going to be a fabulous day of fundraising as this year, it's our 40th anniversary. Since 1985 up to now, we've been here because of this kind of support very much community.
And it makes a difference to so many patients and their families throughout our 1600 square mile territory every day. So it's lovely that this support continues and we're very grateful."

The idea of Bring a Pound to Work Day is as simple as it sounds – businesses, schools and organisations across the local area, including Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington, Driffield and Ryedale, encourage their teams to ‘bring a pound to work’ and all the proceeds go towards helping Saint Catherine’s look after patients and their families, both in the hospice and at home.
On the day teams from Saint Catherine's, This is the Coast and Scarborough Business Ambassadors will be taking to the roads, visiting the hundreds of local businesses that sign up to support the event and collecting their coins. This is the Coast will turn over the entire day's output to the event with the collection teams broadcasting live from the businesses they visit.
Susan Richings, a director at Scarborough Business Ambassadors, said:
"I absolutely love to support St.Catherine's, not just because it supported my own parents on, on a journey, but because it's just a fabulous community place.
We're very lucky to have St. Catherine's Hospice in Scarborough, but it serves a much wider area than Scarborough. So that certainly gets, gets my vote every, every day of the week, and I think being involved in Bring a Pound to Work day for the Scarborough community is just the thing we need to be doing, especially in this year because it's the 40th anniversary year, so we need everybody to dig deep, donate their pounds, and let's make a positive difference."
