Glaisdale's second Mini-Arts Fest is being held this Saturday, 22nd June, as a wonderful opportunity for amateur writers and performers of all sorts to show off their talents.
The festival is built around the winning songs, stories and plays from 3-Minute Arts' national writing competitions held earlier in the year - with the day's programme augmented by local music groups (both children's and adults') wide-ranging in styles, a drama generated by the wonderful Everwitch Theatre in a recent children's workshop, and even dancing from the Glaisdale Cloggers.
Held at and around the Robinson Institute in Glaisdale, the several stages allow the audience to choose from a rich mix of performances along with more intimate and / or interactive sessions such as storytelling, fortune-telling, poetry-writing, 'musetry' - and even Japanese marbling.
The day's session starts at 11.15 with doors closing at 5pm. Only to open again at 7 for a somewhat more relaxed but still varied evening programme with the Fylingdales Folk Choir, Jazz with Glenn Brown and Mark Wakefield, The Marigolds, Sons of Sheila and Doomfolk.
Entry to all parts of the festival is by 'pay as you can' donations, with daytime and evening festival food and bar provided by Egton's The Supper Club.
