Pupils on the Yorkshire Coast are receiving their GCSE results today.
Following a year of disruption due to the pandemic the grades are being awarded on assessments rather than exams.
North Yorkshire's Director of Children's and Young Peoples Services, Stuart Carlton, says the students have show great resilience during a difficult year.
Stuart Carlton says he's confident that the results will be good and says there is plenty of support in place for anyone who doesn't get what they expected to.
For the second year running, students in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are receiving their results today based on teacher assessments with mock exams, coursework and homework being some of the things taken into account.
There are concerns there will be a surge in higher grades as a result, causing issues for sixth form and college admissions.
