Six different fire crews across North Yorkshire were required to tackle a blaze at a farm in Fylingdales.
Crews from Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby and Lythe responded to reports of a large haystack on fire on Sunday, just after 5pm.
Officers used hose reel jets to reduce the fire spread, the farmer also assisted.
The initial three appliances were then replaced with crews from Stokesley, Scarborough and Kirkbymoorside as firefighting operations continued.
From 5.30am on Monday morning, the incident was left with the farmer as the fire had died down significantly.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue are revisiting on Monday.
