While there have occasionally been cases of residents locked out of their homes, it's less common for them to be locked in.
But that's the fate of occupants of a property on Grape Lane in Whitby on Good Friday evening.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say they attended a home on the road around 7.15pm.
Fortunately, officers were able to gain access using a key and release those locked inside.
