Financial Concerns over North Yorkshire Fire Service

The financial situation at North Yorkshire's Fire and Rescue Service is concerning some members of the county's Police Fire and Crime panel.

The service is limited to a 1.98 percent increase in it's council tax levy this year.

The service say that wont cover it's increasing costs and doesn't leave anything for kit replacement.

Panel member Martin Walker says a higher increase in the levy is only possible after a public referendum and that's not affordable:
