VIDEO : Filey Lifeboat Ends it's Final Journey

The "Keep Fit Association" safely arrived in Lowestoft last night.

The all weather vessel left Cobble landing in Filey for the final time at 5am yesterday with it's crew taking it on a 130 mile journey to Lowestoft in Suffolk.

The Mersey class boat is being retired from service in Filey and is expected to join the RNLI's reserve fleet.

From Lowestoft the vessel will be transported via road to the RNLI headquarters in Poole.

Mick Howes from Lowestoft RNLI caught this footage of the vessel arriving at the end of it's final journey with its Filey crew.

The all weather boat is going to be replaced by a 40-mile-per-hour Atlantic 85 class vessel which will help reach casualties quicker and act as a first responder, but which wont have all weather capability.
