A couple from Gristhorpe have launched an operation to rescue 40 farm cats.
Filey Cat Rescue have been rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing cats since 2020.
Both Tina and Mark, a couple from Gristhorpe have devoting their lives to saving the hundreds of cats and kittens in the area, all in need of help to survive.
In the last few weeks they have been asked to help with an urgent overpopulated farm on the moors where the farm cats had grown in numbers over the last couple of years to 40 plus in number.
Along with the help of volunteers, Filey Cat Rescue, have launched "Operation Moors Rescue"
Tina explains how Operation Moors Rescue came about:
Tina admits that there is a master plan, that keeps them very busy, especially trying to find new homes for them.
Tina says that these sorts of rescues are extremely important to stop the numbers increasing, but to also help the cats find caring homes where they can have a safe and wonderful life.
Tina says the service couldn't be delivered without the support of their team of volunteers.
Tina adds:
"I know how hard things are for everyone, but if anyone can help, by donating to us for this rescue, it would be very much appreciated.
Cats like these need our help, do please, help us to help them, if you can."
