There are a number of changes to the bin collection schedule in the Scarborough Borough over Christmas and the New Year.
Some bin collections in the Scarborough Borough will be later than usual over the festive period.
The Borough Council say:
"Our hard-working refuse teams are taking a break for Christmas and New Year which means there will be some alterations to our rounds through to 16 January.
We’ve updated our bin collection calendar to reflect the changes. This is available 24/7 and we encourage you to check it as some collections will be later than usual.
Please make sure your bin is outside your property by 6.30am on the day it is due to be emptied.
It’s quite likely that you might generate more waste over the Christmas and New Year period and lots of it can be recycled and placed in your blue bin.
Items we accept include chocolate tins, plain wrapping paper, glass bottles and jars (rinsed out please), perfume bottles, deodorant aerosol cans and things like shampoo containers.
If you end up with more recycling materials than can fit in your bin, leave it out in a suitable container (such as a cardboard box) and we will take it away.
This could be the box a flash new gadget or a child’s toy came in but not a plastic bag of any kind as these cannot be recycled.
For the full low-down on what you can put in your bins, take a look at our website"
The Borough Councils bin collection calendar can be found on the Scarborough Borough Council Website
