Meeting people from outside you bubble in gardens is not allowed and restaurants can only open for takeaway and delivery.
The entire Yorkshire Coast is now in tier 3 COVID restrictions
The Scarborough Borough along with the rest of North Yorkshire entered tier 3 this morning after yesterday's tier review.
Bridlington and East Yorkshire were left unchanged they stay in tier 3.
In the Scarborough Borough the move into Tier 3 will have an impact on peoples plans for New Year's Eve and on the many hospitality businesses along the coast who found out yesterday that they wont be able to open as planned this evening.
Richard Flinton is the Chief Exec of North Yorkshire County Council, he thinks the change in tier is understandable and recognises the impact on the hospitality sector.
One of the big changes in the move from Tier 2 to Tier 3 is that it is no longer permitted to met with people outside your bubble in your own garden.
Richard Flinton says it's important everyone understands the new rules.
