The local volunteer rescue team have been called out twice over the Easter Weekend.
On Saturday the team were deployed along with with Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Yorkshire Ambulance Service HART team and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service to Rudland House following reports of a lady who had sustained an ankle injury while crossing a stream and was unable to extract herself from the water.
After assessment and treatment on site the lady was carried to a waiting ambulance at the road side. Twenty three team members and two team vehicles deployed for three hours.
On Easter Sunday the team were Called to an organised motor cycle event in Spaunton Quarry near Kirby Moorside.
A child had sustained injuries after falling from a motorbike.
The team say
"The air ambulance was on scene above the quarry and the young man was receiving treatment from the crew however our equipment and skills in the form of a bell stretcher and troops were requested to help carry the patient from the incident to a waiting ambulance. Seventeen team members and two team vehicles were deployed for two and a quarter hours."
