Taxis have become difficult to find in the Scarborough Borough at night-time.
A shortage of drivers is affecting the availability of Taxis at night in the Scarborough Borough.
The Borough Council has approved an increase in taxi fares, in part to help encourage more drivers into the trade.
Speaking at a meeting earlier this month Taxi Licencing Manager - Kevin Chin - said the problem started during the pandemic.
The Borough Council says a shortage of drivers since the pandemic means many cars are sat idle at night.
Licencing Manager, Kevin Chin, is hoping the recently approved fares increase will encourage more drives to enter the trade.
Kevin says the problem isn't just in the town centres.
