Digital Detectives in Demand in North Yorkshire

North Yorkshire Police says it is investing in its Digital Forensics capability in response to a continuing increase in demand.

The force has a specialist Unit which examines things like mobile phones to help support a range of investigations.

Detective Superintendent Jon Naughton says cases are increasing on a monthly basis.

Digital evidence gathering is proving to be an increasing area of work for the police in North Yorkshire.

The county's digital forensics unit examine things like mobile phones to help support a range of investigations.

DS Naughton says they have a backlog of around 350 cases.
