Police requested fire brigade assistance after a taxi left the road in Danby.
It happened around 12.20am on Tuesday morning, at West Lane End, in the sleepy Esk Valley village.
Police requested the help of North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue for a taxi which had left the road on a sharp bend.
The driver was standing on the brakes fearful that the vehicle would slide down an embankment.
On the brigade's arrival, Police were bringing the car back to the roadway and firefighters stood by for a few minutes while this was accomplished.
