All four of our major cricket sides- Whitby, Scarborough, Bridlington and Folkton and Flixton were left winless on Saturday.
Scarborough suffered their first defeat of the season, against Driffield, in Yorkshire Premier North.
Driffield won the toss and chose to bat first at North Marine Road.
The visitors batted until the final over, dragging themselves to 167 before being bowled out. Ben Elvidge against impressed with the ball- taking 5 for 41, Dan Robson picked up 2 for 12.
Scarborough folded in response, going from 24/0 to 29/5. Another collapse was even worse as the hosts slipped from 52/5 to 52/9.
They were skittled for 70 in the 24th over- only three batsmen, Duncan Brown (22), Romario Roach (20) and Adam Newington (12 not out), made double figures for Piet Rinke's men, who lost by 97 runs.
Bridlington had a 52-run losing draw at Hull Zingari in the YPN Championship.
After bowling the hosts out for 239 off the final ball of their 50 overs, Brid's bowlers appeared to have done a decent containing job.
Thomas Hudson took 3 for 41, and there were two wickets apiece for Nathan Johnson, Casey Rudd and Ben Traves.
In reply, skipper Rudd made 62, Joshua Mainprize added 51 and Johnson battled to 40 not out as the visitors limped to 187/7 from their 50 overs.
In the same division, Folkton & Flixton made a decent start after being asked to bat at Carlton Towers. However the hosts slipped from 54/1 to 71/6. They got to 173 all out, in the penultimate over, thanks to Connor Stephenson's destructive 57, which included 4 sixes.
Towers were reduced to 48/3 as Elliot Hatton took 2 for 27, but they reached their target with just one more wicket lost and 14 balls remaining.
The villagers are back at home, on Sunday, in the National Village Cup, when they take on Ebberston.
Whitby are still searching for their first win of the season, in North Yorkshire South Durham Division One.
Visitors Guisborough put on 100 for the first wicket and it took the experienced Ricky Hall to break the partnership with a neat caught and bowled.
Hall impressed with 4 for 43, but the away side made a competitive 205/8 from their 50 overs. In response, Whitby again struggled with the bat. Kai Morris' men slipped from 40/1 to 69/5, with Morris' 26 their top score. The hosts were eventually bowled out for just 113 at the Turnbull Ground, some 92 runs short, with more than 18 overs remaining.
