There are calls for the way that Whitby's Goth weekend is managed to be looked at again.
That was the view of councillors, members of the public and council officials at a meeting in the town last week.
The event has grown in popularity but some residents say the most recent Halloween event left the town overcrowded and caused damage to areas used for car parking.
Richard Marr is North Yorkshire Council's Highways Manager for the town.
The Goth Weekend events bring thousands of people to the town but the most recent Halloween edition has left some residents and councillors expressing concerns about over crowding and damage to areas used for car parking, among them was Dr Janet Brown who said the town was in chaos.
Whitby Councillor Phil Trumper is also concerned about the way the events are delivered and the effect on the town.
North Yorkshire Council's Highways Manager for the area - Richard Marr - says parking was one of a number of problems highlighted over the weekend.
Further Goth Weekend events are being planned for April and November next year.
