Town Councillors in Filey say the resorts car parks are in need of improvement but they are concerned that political upheaval is getting in the way of them being repaired.
The car parks are maintained by the Borough council but Town Councillor Gary Howgate thinks the local government reorganisation which is out for consultation at the moment makes progressing any works difficult.
Town Councillor John Haxby agrees that more money needs to be spent on the town's public car parks which he says are in need of attention.
Scarborough Borough Council is expected to be abolished under plans to create some form of unitary authority in the area which would merge the functions of the existing County and Borough Councils. Tow proposals for the local government reforms are currently out for public consultation.
