Plans to bring a new 7 day a week dental service to Bridlington are reliant on commercial firms wanting the work.
The NHS is in the process of tendering for a new dental practice for Bridlington.
The Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board is going to the market to ask commercial practices to bid for the work.
Bridlington South Councillor - Andy Walker - is concerned about what happens if the commercial providers don't want the work.
The local NHS Integrated Care Board is about to issue a tender asking for interest in running a dental service in the town.
Debbie Pattinson is the NHS Dental Commissioning Lead for the area, she says they are already talking to potential service providers.
Bridlington has recently lost two of it's local dental practices both of which handed back their NHS contracts.
Other local NHS contractors were offered the opportunity to take on the work from the closed practices but no one expressed interest.
It's hoped the commercial tender will deliver a provider for a new seven day a week dental service for the town.
